Биография The Brotherhood Of Man
Brotherhood of Man was a 1970s British pop vocal group, which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976, with the country-pop-esque "Save Your Kisses For Me". The group was formed by record producer / composer, Tony Hiller, and originally featured the well-travelled vocalist, Tony Burrows. In 1970 they had a hit single with "United We Stand", which not only was a heavily played record on British radio, but also broke the American market. By the time they broke the voting record for Eurovision and sold well over one million copies of "Save Your Kisses For Me", the line up had totally changed. After Eurovision, they had a number of hits in the UK, including two more chart-toppers, but long term success proved to be elusive. In 1992, Sandra Stevens told Eurovision Network's magazine that Brotherhood of Man had been shortlisted to sing in A Song for Europe 1983. However she said that the group changed its mind, preferring to be remembered for winning the Eurovision Song Contest as opposed to possibly losing a UK qualifying heat. However their song, "When the Kissing Stops" remained in the contest and was performed by another group, Rubic. It came sixth. "Save Your Kisses For Me" was nominated as one of the final five finalists in the 50th anniversary Eurovision concert held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2005 and was the highest placed UK song.
