"Shoshana Bean was born in Olympia, WA and raised in Portland, Oregon. She attended the University of Cincinnati college conservatory of music where she earned a BFA in musical theater. After moving to New York City, she was cast in the off-bway revival of GODSPELL winning a solid fan base with her rousing rendition of "Bless the Lord." She then toured the country in a production of LEADER of the PACK, starring Mary Wilson of the Supremes, and soon after was cast in the original Broadway company of the Tony-award winning musical HAIRSPRAY. She has been a back-up singer for a number of pop artists, including Michael Jackson and friends for his 30th anniversary concert. Most recently, Shoshana starred as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, in the broadway smash hit musical, WICKED. She has made appearances on Good Morning America, The Today show, Martha, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and the Bravo Christmas special. Shoshana has performed the national anthem for the NJ Nets, NY Giants and NY Knicks. She is featured on the cast recordings for GODSPELL and the Actors fund benefit concert of HAIR. Last year she appeared alongside Brian Mcknight on the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, bringing the audience to their feet with her rendition of "Ain't No Way" honoring Aretha Franklin herself. She also performed on the 2005 Soul Train Christmas Starfest.
