Sarah's Redemption

SARAH'S REDEMPTION was formerly an unsigned New York based pop/rock/punk band from 2005 to 2009, originally formed by singer/songwriter John Black as a solo effort. At its peak, the band consisted of Black (Lead Vocals), Nicholas Bilancia (Guitar/Vocals), Derek Ortiz (Bass/Vocals), and Andy Stark (Drums). Together, the group recorded and self-produced one full length album and two singles with help of friend and former band-mate, Thomas Rosato, who played guitar and keyboard with the group for several months before departing to pursue his passion of audio engineering, later founding his own company, Stacks of Wax Productions. After the release of their debut album, "The Dreamer's Gene" in 2008, the band spent the next year performing around the country, packing out their local NYC venues and even reaching the likes of Maryland's Six Flags. One of the band's final shows saw them perform a slot on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour at Nassau Coliseum, arguably their most notable opportunity. In August of 2009, after a series of discussions about the band's future, the group collectively decided to pursue new ventures. Ortiz, Bilancia, and guest guitarist Anthony Mauriello went on to form the NY-based rock group, Go For Launch, which leaned more towards groove-based rock. Black took a more pop-based direction as he continued to pursue his career under the name Makeshift Lullaby. Stark went on to play drums for close friend of the band, Mary Jennings, who sang guest backing vocals on the songs "Little Game", "Victory Among Strangers (Part I)", "The Aftermath of the Carnival (Part II)", and "Autumn Song". Stark also played drums on the Makeshift Lullaby debut album, "Shadows".
