Биография Ronald And Ruby
RONALD AND RUBY Ronald and Ruby, a racially mixed duo scored in the Spring of 1958 with "Lollipop." Their real names were Beverly Ross and Lee Morris. A Black male singing with a White female raised eyebrows in the 50's, and to my knowledge the duo never appeared on American Bandstand or graced the cover or folds of 16 Magazine. They collaborated as songwriters before and after their hit on songs that includes "Young And Hungry For Love," "Frankenstein Rock," "Fat Pat," "Soul Mates," "Don't Come To My Party," and "The Ghost Of Love." "Lollipop" went to #20 but was hurt by a cover by the Chordettes'. The Mudlarks also covered it in Britain, but Ross didn't mind, she shared co-writers credits with Julius Dixon, so the more the merrier. Beverly started writing young for artists like Bill Haley & the Comets, and recorded a single "Stop Laughing At Me," b/w "Headlights" on Columbia Records. She has 186 songs registered with Broadcast Music Incorporated. Her biggest titles include "Candy Man," by Roy Orbison, "Judy's Turn To Cry," a hit for Lesley Gore, and "Remember When" by the Earls, Sha Na Na, and Neighbors Complaint. After a few more singles including "Love Birds," the duo dropped from sight. It's believed Beverly Ross is still involved with music, but no one knows the whereabouts of Lee Morris. by Andrew Hamilton
