Биография Nutso
Lafayette Azevedo was born in the summer of 1979 in Kitchener, Ontario Canada to his Portuguese parents Maria and Paulino Azevedo. Growing up in Canada didn’t last long for the youngest of 4 siblings as his father decided to pick up and move to the United States to be closer to his side of the family. In 1986 the Azevedo family moved to sunny Sacramento, California, which was a totally new experience for a child that was just 6 years old at the time. New school, new cousins, new friends and a different environment then he have never experienced. It was in that summer of 1986 at the age of 7 that Lafayette discovered hip-hop/rap when his older cousin Steve let him listen to the Beastie Boys “License to Ill”. The rhymes and beats got him hooked on and then it was Run DMC, L.L. Cool J, Kool Moe Dee, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh and many more that kept his mind stuck on hip-hop with its new/fresh sound and something different to offer to the youth. Growing up near San Francisco also influenced him with such artists as E-40 and the click, Mac Dre, Mac Mall, GLP, N2Deep, RBL Posse and so many more that would expand his thoughts and outlook on hip-hop. The bay was different then the east coast that was different then the west coast and rap just kept evolving. Things changed in 1990 when NWA and west coast started to get really popular. All Lafayette would listened to was Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, and many other that would come and go as the 90’s went on. Through high school he was known and the “rap guy” because people knew he was the guy to go to if you wanted some new rap to listen too. He never rapped in high school but gave it a thought but he would listen to it 24/7 and when he entered college things really changed. In the summer of 1997 Lafayette started recording raps at home with a mixer, cassette deck, CD player, headphones and several microphones hooked up for others to rap with him. He’d record goofy songs and never really took it serious. In the fall of ’97 is when things changed. He entered college and went straight into the radio program to become an on-air DJ. That radio show is what started something new. He would host his own 2-hour radio show with all hip-hop music. One day he was hosting a show with his friend Chris and his brother Paul and the wrong song was played on the air, an instrumental. Paul played “Let’s Play House” by the Dogg Pound but only the beat and he didn’t want to kill it because that would’ve been unprofessional. When the program director heard of the mistake he ran into the room and told Lafayette to fix it. He turned the microphone and told the campus students that he was going to do a live freestyle. He rapped for over 2 minutes straight and then went back into DJ mode and hosted the rest of the show. The other DJ’s approached him and was surprised that he did that and people in the halls were also asking him if he was really rapping. That was the start of something that never ended and ‘til this day he keeps ripping the mic down. Now in 2009 he has recorded over 100 songs over the years and has released 2 albums through digital outlets such as iTunes. His many inspirations now of days are Canibus, Eminem, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Royce 5’9 and many other emcees. He has 2 albums on the market, "The Grand Deception" and "Comeback Special '09"
