This song is a strong voice of expression against the gradual decay of modern society, made obvious through the lack of morality, integrity and virtue in the most crippling voice of our age: media. The song rightly exclaims that we've become incompetent enough to accept nearly anything we hear through our TV sets, monitors, and/or radios. Beauty is no longer in one's heart, emotions, or virtues, but instead seen only in false glitter, silicone porcelain women who have been exalted to a goddess status. Entertainment is now televised violence, subliminal product placement, the exaltation of hedonism, and we swallow it, poison from a seemingly-golden cup. As the band rightly exclaims, swallowing this 'light' feels warm inside, and yet, the end result, is a murdered mind, and a slave to the corruption being poured into the weak-minded on all sides. This song is the realization of the above, the desire to be rid of it all, and the longing for something deeper and more substantial -- eternal, beyond the fractured mundane we idly accept as truth. Nodes proclaims, with righteous anger, they will not be moved by the corruption, and amidst the white noise, the soul-shattering pollution, the only reception clear is the longing for eternity.
