Kingsley Flood

Named the Best Roots Act in the 2010 Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll, Kingsley Flood is a six-piece Americana-Indie- rock and roll band based in Boston, MA. Pushing the boundaries of traditional roots music with a city/country sound "beyond time or genre" (Boston Phoenix), the band released its debut album, Dust Windows, in April 2010 to critical acclaim. Ryan’s Smashing Life called it “One of the best new records of 2010," Beat Surrender claimed it "needs to be listened to as a complete package, turned up load” and Delusions of Adequacy said “Kingsley Flood shows no weak points on Dust Windows; it’s an expertly paced listen from beginning to end, contrasting devil-may-care bravado with sullen tales of isolation.” Reflecting singer/songwriter Naseem Khuri's cynicism towards a potential career in international relations, the band formed in 2008 when Khuri asked then-roommate Nick Balkin to pick up a bass for the first time. The band now consists of Balkin's childhood friend Jenée Morgan on fiddle, local drummer Will Davies, veteran Boston guitarist George Hall, and trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Barrett.
