Chicago is known for having great musical talents such as Chaka Khan, Curtis Mayfield, and Quincy Jones. In our day in age, we have such greats as Common, Kanye West and Bloc Xchange to name a few. Soon, Kenlo Key will be added to that bill. Kent "Kenlo Key" Jones was born March 11, 1984 into a family of music. His mother signed her first deal as an R&B artist at the age of 17 and performed on shows such as "Soul Train", so it is safe to say that Kenlo Key is destined for stardom. Kenlo Key started rapping at a young age and earned his marked as an emcee after winning numerous of battles throughout the Chicagoland area. With his fiery punchlines, humble swagger, and remarkable versatility, he became a finalist in the 2005 MGD freestyle battle earning recognition from Disturbing the Peace recording artist, Shawnna. Thereafter, Kenlo Key inked the jingle for Moo and Oink, a famous Chicago based grocery store which led him to be the only unsigned artist to ever become a guest on Fox News Chicago. After performing with major recording artist such as Shawnna, Kanye West, Young Joc, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Bloc Xchange etc...Kenlo Key decided to take a break from the battle scene and focused more on recording an album. His first full length LP entitled "Welcome 2 my World", describes the life of a Chicagoan and the things around him. With songs entitled Ridin all day, you can close your eyes and paint a vivid picture of Chicago. Unsigned, and destined for greatness, Kenlo Key will be a superstar.
