Function: rocking out Etymology: 1 : If Metric, Foo Fighters, and The Mars Volta were fuelled by a caseload of Redbull, it might sound a lot like Fineas Gage. Named after the infamous railway worker, Fineas Gage brings together Victoria musicians Mariel, Tara, Junior and Brendan with a mix guaranteed to stick in your head like a railway spike. The band recently released their debut album “Bombshelter Honeymoon” recorded in Victoria and at the Factory in Vancouver. The album features catchy pop lines and driving rock riffs with intricate bass lines, energetic drums, melodic vocals and witty lyrics. Fineas Gage has been busy following up this release with two music videos for “Can You Hear Me Now” and “Art Won’t Make You Beautiful” produced by the award winning Broken Mirror Films. While Fineas Gage may have just released a debut album, this group of musicians is not new to the Victoria music scene. Band members achievements include international tours, showcases at NXNE, and features on Much Music’s Indy Spotlight and Going Coastal. Fineas Gage shows no signs of slowing down soon, so look out for them on tour this year.
