Evan

Evan was born i Stockholm in the seventies but grew up in the small town of Bollnäs in the north of Sweden. That he was going to devote his life to music in one way or another became clear pretty early in life.

At the age of four he descovered his cousins´ electrical orgen and spent the whole christmas day playing it with the slightly too large headphones on, totally mesmarized by it´s endless possibilatys, both musically and technically.

In the eighties Evan´s musical interest came to life for real when he descovered the synthesiser. Efter playing the classical piano for years he realized that it was more fun to create his own music than playing old Chopin pieces over and over. When he later heard People Are People by Depeche Mode he realized that music was what he was meant to do.

In the beginning of 2003 Evan sent out a batch of demos to various record labels. To make sure that he wouldn´t dissapear in a pile somewhere he wrote a very creative letter where he made up a storie about himself.

The unusual letter, but maybe most of all the enclosed demo, with the romantic lyrics and passionate arrangements captured Stockholm Records and a record deal was soon a reality. In july of 2003 Evan´s first single Everything I´d Ever Do was realeased and the following year saw the release of his debutalbum The Other Side

Evan is a man of many talents. Besides writing, singing, recording, mixing and producing his own music, he´s done a lot of remixes for artists like Bodies Without Organs, Alcazar and Abba´s Agneta Fältskog. In 2005 he did the new theme music for Swedish Radio and he´s also the man behind the soundeffects in the christmas display at the huge departmentstore NK.

But now the focus is on his own music, which he describes as grand screenmusic with vocals.
- I´m an incurable romantic. I love Romeo and Juliet, not least for the unhappy ending. Almost all of my lovesongs have an undertone of longing and tragedy, Evan explains.

In 2006 Evan made his debut in Melodifestivalen, the swedish pre-run to the Eurovision Song Contest,with his song Under Your Spell. Even though the final result didn´t go as inticipated, the exposure infront of more than 3 million viewers, created a new fan base and the competition became a startingpoint for a 2006 filled with new Evan material. Later this autumn we can look forward to the new album «Under your spell», with new grand and pompous music, filled with tragedy and romance that has become so specific for Evan and that we just can´t get enough of.
