After a well-received first album and a long spate of "down-time" the happily unsigned Dolbro Dan is creeping back to the fore with stark, new material concerning global imperialism, elitism and terrorism (the kind perpetrated by Banks and Governments). His inspiration ranges from Billy Bragg to Bruce Lee, from Joan Baez to Rage Against the Machine, from the Anarchist Manifesto to a healthy loathing of the X Factor. This stripped-down, self-produced album is a potent mix of sharp wit and honest emotion, delivered in a retro American folk style with a post-punk aftertaste. Since it’s initial release it has been selling steadily at gigs, festivals and sandwich bars in Ireland and beyond. His latest quote/unquote single 'Talkin Belfast Bike Crash' is a topical song based on a local news report which lampoons small-town bigotry.
