Cazz

Boston-born and desert-raised, Cazz is a storyteller at heart… He had his start on an upright grand, plunking out ivory to the tune of the Ninja Turtles theme song. Places changed, ideas grew, sounds matured…but the concept stayed the same: music to tell a tale. When seventh grade came around, Cazz picked up an electric guitar and instantly felt cooler; so, a few calluses and a half-stack later, he started a melodic rock band, Out Numbered, with some schoolyard shredders (note the NJ pun). As writer/guitarist, he didn’t even sing a note until a few years later when the band was in need of a new vocalist—Cazz stepped up to the mike and began his pubescent career of sing-squawking. Largely a songwriting band, they released a 3-track EP and had their run in Lake Havasu City for a short string before splitting up. At that point, Cazz turned to an old classical acoustic and began writing a handful of songs that would later become the inspiration for an ongoing slew of music that he appropriately refers to as his “Bedtime Stories.” In 2006, he moved to Malibu, California to pursue a degree in creative writing and film. Already adept in digital recording, he set up a small studio (now in his mobile home) where all of his music was/is recorded. Crisp acoustics and soft pianos fill his sparse arrangements, all of which come together with lullaby textures to make up his debut EP, “Nights & Windows” - fall of 2009. His music has extreme focus, drawing largely from his writing career and filmic passion. Always a story to tell, Cazz’s music will continue to grow and spread across the airwaves… …stay tuned in for new stories and releases!
