Биография Baby Boy
Born on February 12, 1988, as Herman Gibbs III, also known as Baby Boy in the streets of Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Oakland City. Due to his mother’s drug habit and his father abandoning him at the age of 3, Gibbs along with his sister, Kecia Houston, was taken in by their grandparents, Shirley Gibbs and Herman Gibbs Sr. Since his childhood days, Gibbs has been heavily influenced by the sounds of Ginuwine, Luther Vandross, and New Edition. However, it was not until the age of 6 that his Grandmother Shirley Gibbs and Aunt Sharon Gibbs actually noticed that Herman possessed an amazing voice within him. Thanks to his grandmother and aunt, they quickly noticed the talent of Gibbs after they heard him singing on the way to a family reunion in 1994. After the death of his grandmother in early July of 1997, he went on to become the lead singer in the church choir at the church he attended at the age of 9.He loved going to church but he felt that gospel wasn’t the type of music he was into. At the age of 11, he found out God had also blessed him with the ability to write music lyrics. Gibbs wrote his first song called “Can’t You Tell” on his front porch, while him and some of his childhood friends, Teezie Dolla and Chop Dogg, would stand out on the corner late at night singing their songs. By 2001, they were introduced to Money Maker Records CEO Kentay. At that time the name of their group was called The Throwback Babies. They were the younger version of The Throwback Boys (Fellow Money Maker Records Artists). Due to the problems at home and the lack of attention his talent got while with Money Maker Records, he went on to find the passion for music within himself and on his own and left in early 2002. Still on the a never ending quest to find himself musically, Baby Boy set out on his own to take the music industry by storm.
For the next 4 years, Baby Boy found himself recording and paying for studio time out of his pocket all around the Atlanta area, until stumbling upon On Deck Records CEO Bingo. After finally finding a stable, yet free studio to record in, Baby Boy began to let his stardom be known by recording “I’m A G” with Universal Republics’ new artist J Futuristic. Baby Boy credits J Futuristic for the introduction to his current management group, MSV, consisting of Thomas “J Soul” Burroughs (producer/manager) and Dimitrius “Meet Meet” Stevens (manager). While working in the studio heavily, Baby Boy wrote and recorded the songs “Stuntin” and “Gettin Money”, which caught the attention of Grand Hustle’s General Manager, Hannah Kang. Kang was astounded by the sound that Baby Boy produced which elevated to a management contract with Grand Hustle. Today, with the aid of Kang, Baby Boy is now the first artist to have a joint venue with Grand Hustle and Amar’e Stoudemire’s Label Hypocalypto. Baby Boy’s journey doesn’t end here. His smash singles “Stuntin” featuring Yung LA, and “Getting Money” featuring Young Dro have now been released and within due time his first album will be released.
