Anatrofobia

Anatrofobia is an Italian band, whose sound is hard to define in mainstream terms like post rock or jazz core: themes constantly flying between order and chaos, law and anarchy, silence and loudness, modernism and tradition. Tense border music since 1990. Away from mainstream artistic path, the band keeps on his quest for an honest experimental musical language, pushing the boundaries of his traditional rock instrumentation. Anatrofobias improvisative approach, practice in composition and constant experimentation of non-idiomatic structures do not belong to western popular music: there's no place for riffs, song models, thematic improvisation, tonal sensationalism and rhythmical monotony. Anatrofobia plays with constantly variable themes, saturation and rarefaction, the plurality of levels, asymmetries and polyrhythms, tonal complexity, on a challenge that faces a continuous investigation of the bands own musical inventions and the refinement/discussion of the already reached aims. Anatrofobia is as far from the prog rock verbosity as from the virtuoso aphasia of certain contemporary jazz and, at the same time, to label it as post-rock or jazz-core is missing the point.
